Wow, this article made me truly grateful that my kids were born here in MD and received such great newborn testing. It's a shame so many states don't as thorough of a job - even though the diseases are rare, it's amazing how much can be prevented if you know from the beginning.

I think I still have Caroline's band-aid from her heal when she went back for the 2nd round of testing at a few weeks old.
