I am convinced that Bryce is starting with signs of asthma. While before I think he's had a cough as a result of post-nasal drip associated with his allergies, he now has a cough that will not quit. He was up at 3am this morning coughing his head off (me too!). I gave him cough medicine in hopes for some relief and it did help some. He was only coughing about every other minute instead of every minute. I think he did kind of doze off but I know I was awake until about 4:30. Poor kid, I just couldn't send him to school coughing like that. Eating, drinking or sucking on a cough drop didn't help either. And then I had a realization - when I had a short term issue with asthma in high school I remember that I didn't have the trouble breathing you always think about with asthma but I did have an uncontrolled cough and my throat hurt. My supervisor confirmed the same exact thing with his son. I am sooooooooooooooooo glad we have that appointment this afternoon since the allergist specializes in allergies and asthma.
My poor boy - he just hasn't been the same since Easter. These allergies are kicking his little butt and he barely eats or wants to play. My MIL said he's barely even talking today. 3:30 cannot get here soon enough. I just feel so bad for him - it makes me want to cry.
