I suppose it was my turn. I believe in karma and truly, what you put out there comes back at you.
Back when Jason and I first got married, I used to hide around the apartment when he least expected it and jump out and scare the crap out of him. I still laugh about a few of the times. I got him pretty good. But in the years since children that has waned in lieu of more serious activities such as child rearing. Honestly, I just don't have the time to even think about it anymore!
But Bryce proved to me yesterday he's got my genes!
I went upstairs to change after work and went into the bathroom. I thought I'd heard someone following me up the steps as I went into the bathroom, which is pretty par for the course since often I'll RUN up the steps as fast as I can so I can make it into the bathroom before I am followed in. When I came out though, all was quiet. Thankful for a moment's peace, I went into my closet and grabbed some shorts and a t-shirt. Again, I thought I'd heard something but figured it was just me knocking into something.
I walked out of the closet and just a few feet from the door I hear, "BOOOOO!!"
I screamed! And there was Bryce standing behind me in the closet doorway laughing hysterically. He got me!!! I started laughing so hard I had to lay on the floor. I think for a minute he was scared that he was in trouble or something but when he saw how hard I was laughing I could tell he was quite proud of himself.
He had a good little hiding spot in our closet it seems and did a bang up job of keeping quiet. This is actually kind of a big deal for him as he's had problems playing hide and seek in that he can't stay quiet or keep hidden for long enough. I think he's got a bright future ahead of him in that game!
When I stopped laughing I told him the story of how I used to scare daddy - he got a kick out of that. Like mother, like son. I better watch my back because now that he knows he can do it, he's bound to do it again. Maybe it's time I get back in on the hiding game. Jason?
